Content:
This presentation covers the needs of traumatized and attachment disrupted children and their caregivers and offers a rationale for the use of play therapy methods to overcome these problems. Using lecture, case studies, video segments and small group experiential activities, Dr. VanFleet covers the appropriate use of nondirective, directive, and family play therapy approaches with these children. Emphasis will be placed on theoretically- grounded, empirically-supported and trans-culturally relevant interventions, Filial Therapy and other family play therapy methods, and the use of canine-assisted play therapy and equine therapy options with this population of children.

family play therapy interventions with this population
3. Articulate when Child-Centered Play Therapy is useful with these children       and when it may not be beneficial.
