We are looking for fresh eyes and new perspectives to help promote the education and use of play therapy!

We would love for you to consider joining our board!

​

Why join??

If you are passionate about play therapy and love our state - we would love to have your ideas and passion to help spread and promote play therapy throughout New Mexico! It is a small requirement of time, but results in friendships, networking and skills development. This is a great local opportunity that provides those with even with no board experience a chance to be a part of giving back in our state and to our profession.

The required qualifications:

  • You must be licensed in the state of New Mexico. 

  • You must be a resident and practice within the state of New Mexico. 

  • You must be working towards your RPT credentialing, but you do not have to be an RPT/RPTS to join the board!

  • You can dedicate time quarterly to attend board meetings and serve on committees. 

 

Joining the board means you are agreeing to:

  • A three year term starting June 1st of the year you are elected to the board and ending on May 30th three years later.

  • Attend four board meetings yearly - one in person at our annual conference in Albuquerque and three via video conferencing each year of your term

  • Attend our annual board retreat - a one day event where the board maps out our events and plans for the new year

  • Actively participate on committees and as an officer should you be elected

  • Travel expenses reimbursed for board specific activities 

  • Networking with other professionals throughout our state

  • We have FUN! Play therapists know how to make the most out of gatherings!

Interested in joining? Be sure to keep an eye out for the call for nominations, it generally goes out at the end of January and elections occur in March. If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to us.
